The Kindle or the Sony Reader?
My birthday is coming up on the 17th and my husband plans to surprise me with a ebook reader. LMAO, I’m going to be surprised!!!! I just have to find out which one is better so that I can hint around to him for the one that I want. I have went online and read review and I am still at a lost. Therefore, I am at your mercy. Please Help!!!
An early birthday wish for you
I love my Kindle 2 very much. Between the Kindle and the Sony Reader, I’ll suggest you to go for the Kindle instead of Sony. The Kindle is better because it has free wireless and text-to-speech function. There are more ebooks you can find available for the Kindle, and books on the Kindle are quite a lot cheaper too. There are some good comparison between them here:

And in case you don’t know, Amazon has recently put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support… So take the chance if you want it.
Hope it helps
whats the main difference between a ipod and a mp3 player?
4GB Super-Slim MP3 and Video Player with Trackball Control
Features:
Unique trackball control
2.2” TFT LCD color display
Integrated flash memory
Plays music / video / photos / text
Integrated FM radio
ID3 tag support for song information display
USB 2.0 for fast file transfers
Integrated rechargeable battery
is that good
Yeah, it’s good.
I think the main difference between the two is the name. To many, the name "Apple iPod" just sounds better than "mp3."
It’s just a brand name thing.
Who is the best retailer of laptop computers and why?
(a) Where did you buy your last laptop from?
(b) Out of 10, how you would rate the retailer for price and customer service?
(c) Why?
(a) My first laptop was a Toshiba, many years ago, running MS DOS 6.0. It has lasted to this very day, although I absolutely would not attribute such survivability to modern Toshibas, which have a reputation for melting. My latest laptop however, and most of my previous laptops for the last seven years or so, are from Dell, and I see no reason not to buy from them again in the future.
(b) I’d give them 8 out of 10.
(c) Dell’s laptops are sturdy and reliable (IN MY EXPERIENCE! Your mileage may vary!), and do not seem to incorporate quite so much bloatware as other manufacturers do these days. I have also had difficulty finding equivalent specced laptops at similarly low prices. Their customer service of late, however, leaves much to be desired. Ever since they moved towards outsourcing their call centres to India, I have found difficulty with customer services operatives having a poor command of the English language, little knowledge about the product itself, and long response times. For a short time I even ended up being charged twice on my last purchase, which as you can imagine I frantically made sure was reversed! I now have no choice but to deal with them over e-mail, as telephone calls frustrated me to the point of insanity.
As I mentioned though, your mileage may vary. Practically speaking most well-known manufacturers should be OK, and it comes down to a matter of personal choice in the end.
How do I connect my wireless laptop to the internet?
I signed up for the Wifi deal with ATT but my workplace is not in one of their "Hotspots". I do have a wireless card that came with the laptop. Are there any other companies out there that I can sign up for to get wireless internet access?
Can I connect to the internet without a router?
I think at my workplace, using the telephone line is charged per call or per minute through the phone jack.
you could try turning on the router on the laptop
its usually on the side
one mine its just a little switch on the right side
if ur at work there might be wifi from other workers
you just turn it on and check for available networks and click on one that has no password protection
one it connects you good to go
What is a good IPAD application to create?
What are some topics that people would be interested in seeing as an ipad application?
For example:
Children’s stories
An application that lets you know the ingredients in foor
Those are some I think of now. What would people want to see?
Why are people insistant on being down on the iPad before they even see it?
If I was a developer I would start watching science fiction.
I want apps to give me the "Minority Report" vibe. Also did you see Avatar? On there once of the techies has a document on screen and swipes it sideway off the screen onto his tablet PC wirelessly. AWESOME.
I have also come up with some more ideas and quoted tham as my source.
