Samsung D840: Slim, Strong and Stylish

Ever growing popularity of slim phones have been further fueled by the relentless competition between manufacturers. Almost every mobile phone manufacturer in the world have dedicated a ’series’ or a ‘family’ of slim phones. Samsung in its D series portfolio has introduced ultra-thin phones and have the tag of the creator of slimmest handset.

The Samsung D840 justifies its position in the ‘D’ series with its slimness of just 11.9 mm. This makes the Samsung D840 one of the slimmest handsets and probably the slimmest slider. The slim dimensions of this petite slider makes it quite an eye candy. Sleek black casing with hints of chrome speaks volume about the quality of the product.

The Samsung D840 not only surprises with its size but also with a host of features that its manufacturers managed to cramp inside. Starting from a strong internal antenna that gives you superior voice reception quality to Class 10 EDGE and GPRS technology for broadband like Internet speed – the Samsung D840 is your one stop solution for all kinds of remote communication. Triband GSM mobile network support means the Samsung D840 is active across five continents in more than a 100 countries.

The phone has a 2.0 megapixel camera that produces pictures with resolution as high as 1600×1200 pixels. With all necessary imaging features like digital zoom, integrated LED flash and video capabilities, the integrated camera of the Samsung D840 is more than a muse. Though not positioned as a music solution, the Samsung D840’s built in media player is compatible with MP3, AAC, ACC+ and WMA formats. You can enjoy your music on the stereo headphones or on the built in speakers. A big internal memory pool of 70 Mb and external memory card support clears any doubts about its potential as a music player.

The Samsung D840 can take you by surprise with the sheer number of features it includes within its stylishly tiny case.

Laptop Wireless Connection for Your Computer

Wireless technology depends on wireless access points or a wireless router to send and receive these signals wirelessly to and from a laptop through the wireless device attached to it. A practical distance limitation exists between a laptop’s wireless connection interface and the nearest wireless router or wireless access point for wireless technology to work.

Laptops can be used to access the Internet and connect to Bluetooth enabled devices and wireless office networks wirelessly. Wireless technology uses RF signals transmitted over air. A wireless device is attached through a laptop wireless connection interface to a laptop.

In the case of both wireless Internet access and wireless access to a wireless office network from a wireless laptop, this distance limitation is normally 300 feet.

This can be extended through an external wireless RF signal booster antenna attached through a suitable interface on a laptop to about 3 miles. This antenna can also be termed as a laptop wireless booster. The wireless antenna uses signal gain control technology to extend the range of transmission of RF signals.

The wireless LAN or wireless LAN card alternatively on the laptop needs to be switched on and correctly configured as some of the prerequisite conditions for this connectivity.

An option for laptop wireless connection to the Internet can be an external USB wireless modem attached on a USB port of a laptop.

Bluetooth technology is a special application of wireless technology. It uses short-range RF signals at 2.4 GHz to achieve wireless signal transmission within a distance ceiling of 10 meters.

Through Bluetooth technology, a laptop equipped with an integrated Bluetooth adaptor (laptop wireless connection interface) can be wirelessly connected to Bluetooth enabled cellphones or barcode readers or to a Bluetooth base station within the prescribed distance limitation and data or files shared or transferred mutually between the synchronized devices at the two ends of the connection..

For the above to be achieved in practice, Bluetooth adaptors on devices at both ends of the connection need to be switched on and the necessary password permissions assigned on these devices.

The major advantage of a laptop wireless connection is ‘on the move’ seamless connectivity to the Internet, to wireless office networks, and to similarly equipped Bluetooth devices from a laptop. This provides convenience and independence to a mobile laptop user.

The benefits of a laptop wireless connection are manifold. Some of them include complete avoidance of unwieldy, expensive, and problematic wired connectivity on a laptop to achieve the same tasks, and wireless connection sharing facility among two or more laptops.

In the case of wireless connectivity to an office network from a laptop, wireless LAN on the laptop connects to a wireless office network through the internal antenna of an onboard integrated wireless LAN if so available on the laptop or alternatively through the antenna on the wireless LAN card if so available and inserted on the PCMCIA slot of a laptop.

Ipod Music Downloads – Download Ipod Music to your Heart’s Content

Downloading iPod music always brings thrill to users whenever they manage to find the tune they are searching for. Just not long ago, when radio was the only free source of music, people would stay tuned to their radio or portable receiver. Then CDs came along, followed by music MP3s. It is apparent that the MP3 player has invaded almost all the modern homes of America. Chances are you would find one MP3 player or more specifically an iPod in the homes since it is the most popular MP3 player. More than 21 million iPods were sold in just the last quarter of 2006 alone, boosted by the Christmas sales. Having a nice gadget with such enhanced capacity to hold hundreds to even thousands of songs and music is not enough. You need to know how and where to get hold of unlimited iPod music downloads in order to do justice to your iPod.

When people think of iPod music downloads, the first place they would think of is iTunes. If you do a quick review, you would discover that they have a wide selection of over 3.5 million songs, movies and over 200 TV shows, over 20,000 audio books, games etc. Prices range from $0.99 for a music track, and movies retail at $9.99 per movie, while TV show sells at $1.99 per episode. Frankly, that’s quite a large database of iPod media files and there are old fans who stick with it since that’s probably the very first site that they knew and got their first iPod music downloads.

However, there are others who feel that it is ridiculously expensive if they want to beef up a private stash of music and songs with tons of iPod music downloads. Naturally, they would switch to downloading iPod music at free download sites like Kazaa or Limewire. Why should anyone bother to download iPod music that comes with a price tag each time you do so? People quickly figured this out and as a result, huge demand for free iPod music downloads ensued. More download sites using the same concept as Kazaa pop up.

But there are some problems with downloading iPod music at sites like Kazaa. These download sites would expose your computer system to malware such as viruses, adware and spyware. In exchange for downloading iPod music for free, you are obliged to view those pop-up advertisements, or commercial ads. Needless to say, this would badly affect your PC’s performance such as speed and memory and its functionality. Imagine the kind of trouble you would be in should your PC crash on you and wipe out all your important files and documents. The reformatting, reinstallation and so on so forth is something most people would love to avoid.

Business owners saw the loopholes and pitfalls in these free iPod music downloads sites. In meeting the ever-increasing demand for cheap music downloads for iPod, new membership sites that offer lifetime access to millions of iPod music files, music videos, and other media files like business audio books, TV shows and movies came into the music scene. Instead of a pay-per-download fee structure, they go for a one-time fee based concept. Various download sites charge a different fee but it is generally in the low range of $40. The music community, especially iPod users has welcomed such a refreshing change. Music enthusiasts can now access to as many iPod music downloads as they wish, without expensive charges under an environment safe from malware attacks.

Read my blog to find out how it is possible to access to millions of iPod music downloads and get the latest tips and reviews of top iPod music sites.

Amazon Kindle 2 Review: Why It’s The Most Popular eBook Reader Today

You may not have heard about the Kindle when it first released. Compared to some technologies such as the iPhone and new versions of Windows, the Kindle was a fairly quiet release. If you are an avid reader, you were probably more than a little intrigued. But intrigue grew into popularity with the release of the much-improved Kindle 2. And now with the Kindle DX, the most advanced reader on the market, Amazon has become the single most popular maker of ebook readers.

But is all this popularity well-founded or is it just hype brought on by a new piece of technology? To be fair, it is a bit of both. The Kindle is far from a perfect device and it won’t be replacing the paper book just yet, but it does offer the best possible way to take your books, and lots of them, wherever you want to go. That portability is something you just cannot find with normal books. And even though the Kindle DX is big, roughly the dimensions of a sheet of paper but substantially thicker, it can bring over 3,000 books with it. You would need quite a backpack to carry a library that big with you.

The Kindle 2 may be the most popular ebook reader available, but it certainly isn’t the only one. The DX, however, is really the only one of its kind available. It offers a huge screen, more storage and some cool features such as a rotating screen like the iPhone. But it also makes a huge price jump from the Kindle 2.

The price of the Kindle DX is a whooping $489. This is probably why many people, even those who think highly of the Kindle and the ebook technology, are hesitant to get a Kindle DX. It doesn’t even come with any freebies like a bestseller or two, and since you would still need to purchase a good cover for it, your costs could extend well beyond the $500-mark. At the very least, couldn’t Amazon just have thrown in a cover into the package?

Since the Kindle is a fairly new device, it still hasn’t completely broken into the market. Although it is the most popular one, the Kindle still can’t offer its internet connection service outside the country. Once the Kindle is more established, this is likely to change. For now, many people just see it as a fancy way to read books. But it wasn’t so long ago that the iPod was just a fancy way to listen to music. Now, it is one of the most widely spread pieces of technology you can find. The Kindle remains revolutionary in what it offers. Eventually, it is hard to imagine that paper books will not be replaces. For now, it is still a luxury to many people, but as it discovers its territory in the marketplace, more and more homes will be losing the bookshelf and getting a Kindle.

Laptop Notebooks are Best Substitutes for our Traditional Computers

A Notebook PC consists of similar functionalities that a computer is comprised of. It is equipped with a LCD display, a keyboard and a touchpad which is equivalent of mouse. Its display primarily ranges from 13 inches to 17 inches, weighs between 1.4 to 5.4 kilograms and thickness ranges between 18-38mm . The laptop comes in folding design. Unlike desktop computers, it comprises of rechargeable battery and these devices have the advantage of removable memory facility which ensures large storage of data.

The modern-day laptops are portable, cheap priced and come with supremely stylish looks. Different companies manufacture various types of notebooks with different configuration and specifications. Sony Vaio, Dell, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Apple are some of the most recognized companies in dealing with laptops. The price varies on the Laptop configuration as notebooks with higher configuration and extra specifications are bit expensive while laptops with general features and lesser configuration are available at cheaper rates. A laptop’s configuration mainly comprises of processor which may be Intel Dual Core, it may be enabled with windows or vista premium operating system.

The data speed varies from one notebook PC to the other. The RAM’s capacity varies too, depending on the configuration. It may range from 1GB to 4GB or may be available with higher memory. Some laptops are enabled with TV tuner and built-in cameras for extra usage. The hard drive’s capacity also varies, starting from 64GB to 320GB. The hard disk and RAM have smaller sizes as compared to desktops. The laptop’s Central Processing Unit have better advantage than computer as they produce less heat and also save power. They may be of Intel Core, Core 2 Duo, Premium M, VIA Technologies etc. Many ports are available on the sides of the keyboard for USB connectivities and for other functions. Expandable memory cards such as MiniPCI are present in these devices for a large storage of data.

Thus both a laptop and notebook have more advantages as they are ultra-portable, durable and they can be used while travelling easily. We can have immediate access and can have our work done instantly and these are always up-to-date, as all files can be saved in a single location. where can i find unbiased reviews on sony ebook readers?

i am interested in buying an ebook reader from sony, the touch edition to be more specific. i want to know the good the bad and the ugly, but most websites are retailers and of course they don’t write certain things about it. or are very vague on some things. the video reviews that ive seen are almost the same. i want a good website that offers good customer reviews. not only the ones that sound: "OMG! I LOVEEEE IT!!! YOU HAVE TO GET IT. LIKE TOTALLY LOVE IT…"
you know what i mean

Have you checked the reviews on Amazon? They are reviews written by actual user. You can find it here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FB002MWYUFU%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref%255F%3Dsr%255F1%255F1%255Fcm%255Fcr%255Facr%255Ftxt%26showViewpoints%3D1&tag=querystr-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

But for me, I’ll go for the Kindle instead. There are quite a lot of people choose the Amazon Kindle over other ebook readers. Like this person, he has tried both the Kindle and Sony, and other ebook readers. This is also the best review I’ve ever read:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR3QM7LGL62MZ4X%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Frdp%255Fperm&tag=querystr-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

Hope this helps you decide.

How come when I open a port my laptop wireless internet stops?

I’ve finally figured out how to open ports on my Netgear WPN824v3 and when I went on my laptop, the wireless internet stopped working. It says limited or no connectivity or something like that. Can I not open ports and use wireless internet at the same time? Help!

If you make port changes and things like that, it resets your connection to it, basically kicking you off.

What is the difference with the Wifi and 3G + Wifi Ipad?

I am so impressed about this newly launched Ipad from Apple. Since Im not techy, I have no idea which one to buy in the future. I do lots of travels from my work and I want to purchase the best. Thanks

well yeah 3g means you get internet were ever you get a signal wifi you have to be somewhere and be on someones wireless internet network. 3g is prolly better if your traveling but to be honest, the i pad is basically and over sized iphone that is pretty inconvenient to carry around. my suggestion is a mac book. its more expensive but you get a bunch of other stuff. + the iPad is kinda big to carry around but i guess if you do traveling and get 3g thatd be nice. But im just letting you now that the macbook would prolly be a better choice if you ave write stuff for your work

How long is a ipod mini 4g second generation supposed to last?

I am planning to get the ipod nano 8g and i had the ipod mini 4g before. I had the mini for 2yrs and someone i know thinks that that is a very short time for someone to have an ipod or mp3 player. I think that 2 yrs is pretty long for an ipod. How long is an ipod mini supposed to last when used daily and frequently?
is having the iPod for 2 yrs a long time?

It depends on the usage habits. I have a first gen mini that still works perfect and the battery lasts as long as I need. The most common problem with these is that the battery fails. You can get replacements online for $12. My wife’s 3rd generation iPod 40GB battery failed last year and she wanted a nano for size and battery performance reasons. I just bought her one for our anniversary. The color screen is well worth it and the battery does last longer.

It will last a long time, but if you want the color display or album art it might be worth the upgrade. You can sell your old one on ebay or something.
